What is HSA/FSA?
Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Savings Accounts are offered by certain employers as a vehicle for their employees to save money from their paychecks on a pre-tax basis. These savings accounts can be used for eligible health-related products and expenses according to IRS guidelines.

Items eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement are marked so in our online shop. For SAMINA, this includes but is not limited to items such as our orthopedic mattress system for back pain relief; grounding pads proven to improve sleep naturally; bed frames that incline relieving head/sinus pressure and offering GERD/heartburn symptom relief; orthopedic pillows to prevent neck pain.
Note: Even if you do not have a diagnosed condition, the IRS allows HSA and FSA funds to be used for products that prevent chronic illness or conditions.
How Does Truemed Work?
In our online shop, some products will have “HSA/FSA eligible with Truemed” below the “Add to Cart” button. Truemed helps you qualify your SAMINA purchase so you can check out using your HSA/FSA card or get reimbursed from your HSA/FSA provider after purchase.
For reimbursement, you’ll need a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) written by a medical professional. You’ll be asked for basic information including your state of residence to assign the correct professional, typically a nurse practitioner or medical doctor, who reviews your application and issues the LMN.
You can determine eligibility by providing some basic information at check out, including medical conditions you’ve been diagnosed with, family medical history, and details about your HSA or FSA administrator. The process is straightforward and you should have a response within 24 – 48 hours.
Pay for Your Purchase with Your HSA/FSA card.
This is a simple straightforward approach. Add your items to the cart then, at checkout, pay with your HSA/FSA card saving up to 30% or 40% off your purchase by using your pre-tax savings. You will also be given the opportunity to split your payment between your HSA/FSA card and credit card.
Pay for Your Purchase with Your Personal Credit Card.
Using a personal credit card involves an extra step but Truemed makes it easy. Simply add the eligible items you want to the cart. At checkout, select a normal payment method such as your personal credit card or Paypal. After you check out, the Order Confirmation page will display information on how to use your HSA/FSA savings for the order. Click Get reimbursed on the order confirmation page and you will be prompted to complete an HSA/FSA evaluation form to determine eligibility for HSA/FSA reimbursement.
Once you have been pre-approved, a licensed medical professional will review your form and, if determined appropriate, issue a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). You will receive your LMN usually within a day or two in a letter along with instructions on how to reimburse themselves.
Get Qualified Now
Upon completion, you will receive confirmation that you’ve completed the health survey. Then, the Letter of Medical Necessity is typically sent within one business day. Submit this document along with your purchase receipt according to the reimbursement process of your HSA provider.
You’ll also receive an email with a code to access your LMN directly in the Truemed portal. You can use the code to log in, download your Letter of Medical Necessity, and proceed with your HSA or FSA reimbursement.
