Founder, Dr. Günther Amann-Jennson, lives by the creed that “nothing is more powerful than nature.” That’s why, since its inception in 1989, the Austrian company committed to using only eco-friendly, sustainable raw materials including certified organic materials.

Pure, bio-active materials
The essential components of the SAMINA sleep system are made from four high-quality natural and organic materials:
- GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric.
- Bio-active, humanely harvested virgin wool
- FSC-certified, sustainably sourced European ash wood.
- GOLS-certified organic Talalay latex (natural rubber).
Rest assured, all SAMINA brand products are non-toxic and made without synthetic materials. While this is important for all people, it’s especially good news for those who suffer from asthma, allergies, sleep apnea or sensitivity to chemicals and odors.
Metals and Electronics: Omitted on Purpose
By design, there are no metal springs in SAMINA beds. In fact, you will not find any metal whatsoever. Many wellness experts support as scientific studies show that metal can disturb natural sleep rhythms acting as antennae and attracting electro-magnetic fields (“EMFs”) to the human body. Our bodies have a high water content and are therefore highly conductive. Therefore, SAMINA beds have no metal springs which can disrupt your natural Circadian rhythm and negatively affect the quality of your sleep.
SAMINA is rigorously opposed to the modern trend of incorporating technology into mattresses. Where you sleep is sacred to your wellbeing and should be free of anything toxic or that will interfere with your sleep. Because these technologies can interfere with our sleep and possibly cause harm, our sleep products remain free from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, motors, metal, and applications.
Essentially, everything about the SAMINA system is intended to bring you closer to nature and naturally healthy sleep. That is also why you can rest more easily knowing you won’t find any polyester, polyurethane foam, plastic, petrochemicals, aromatic solvents, or formaldehyde either.
Careful craftsmanship by hand
When bio-active, natural raw materials are mass-produced with petroleum-fueled machinery, they may become contaminated, and the process creates pollution. This is why SAMINA remains committed to making every product carefully by hand protecting the valuable natural elements in the organic materials. Furthermore, the SAMINA label guarantees the item was handmade in the fresh, pollution-free alpine air in Austria.
SAMINA also voluntarily pledges carbon-neutral production, reducing its own carbon footprint. For SAMINA sleepers, this is another way we offer peace of mind for a good night’s rest.
Sustainable by Design
Incorporating sustainability into the manufacture of a mattress was a revolutionary idea in the 1980s. The intelligent design of SAMINA starts with the selection of durable, natural materials that decompose slowly over time prolonging the life of the bed.
Individual layers stacked together rather than enclosed inside of a single mattress offers the ability to replace components rather than dispose of the entire bed. After many years, simply revitalize your SAMINA sleep system with replacement pieces.
